One of the biggest trends so far in 2020 is interesting uses of color, texture and wallpaper in design.

The most fun place to try these trends before spreading to the rest of your home is in the powder or guest bath area. Why not? These spaces might be small in square footage but they do not lack function and style. Your guests will get to enjoy the lighthearted design and get a feel for your playful side.

Use tile in colors or patterns, such as black and white for the more classic approach. If you want to be a bit more adventurous, try blues or greens or even pinks that are super trendy! If tile feels a bit too permanent for your taste, scale back to wallpaper that can be removed or even paint and stencils as an easy DIY weekend project. Wallpaper can come in unlimited patterns, colors and even have texture such as grasscloth or velvet.

Move on to the vanity…

When your walls have been decided, move on to the vanity. Use colored cabinetry to bring a modern feel and fun vibe. Blues, greens, wood color and classic whites are the most popular choices we are seeing in our homes.

Next, accessories…

Next, accessories are very important and the most easy to change out when you get ready for a new look. Don’t be afraid of mixing metals, even in the same space. The different colors can play well together and offer more options to choose from.

Lastly, your mirror…

Lastly, your mirror is the icing on the cake, use fun shapes and colors to add that last little cherry on top.
